If you have received an email informing you that you have reached your email account quota or are nearing your email account quota there is an option in cPanel that can help you clear up some space. Note that accounts that are setup to use IMAP are more than likely to experience this issue.
Firstly you should make sure that it is a legitimate notice and not a phishing email, contact your web hosting provider if you’re not sure, they’ll be happy to let you know if you are indeed getting close to your quota
If your mailbox fills up then any mail sent to you will bounce back to the sender, a couple of simple things you can do are:
Login to your control panel
go to yourdomain.com.au/cpanel and login
Find and click the Email Disk Usage icon under the Email heading, you can also use the search facility to find this utility. At the next page select your email address from the Accounts dropdown menu
You will be able to see all of the mail folders you have, by clicking the manage link next to each of those folders you will see various options regarding removing mail. You can then choose any of the options presented via the management dropdown menu.
There are also options from within your email program to help you manage your email and storage on the server.
I’ll discuss these options in another post when I get a chance.
